Special Services  

Copy and Fax services are available at the following rates:           

     Copies

²          8 ½ x 11, single sided:          15 ’ per page

²          8 ½ x 11, double sided        25 ’ per page

²          8 ½ x 14, single sided:          25 ’ per page

²          8 ½ x 14, double sided        35 ’ per page

²          Outgoing:           $3 for the first page, $1 for each additional page

²          Incoming:           50 ’ per page

Lost and Damaged Materials  

²          Any patron who borrows materials from the Honeoye Public Library is responsible for returning them in a timely manner and in good condition.

²          Patrons will reimburse the library for lost materials.

²          The cost of an item will be determined by Baker & Taylor.

²          Patrons are also responsible to reimburse the library for the cost of damaged materials that are no longer suitable for the collection and cannot be replaced.

Procedure for Sending Overdue Notices  

²          A First Notice is sent when an item is 4 weeks overdue.

²          A Second Notice is sent when an item is 8 weeks overdue.

²          A Bill (Assumed Lost) is sent when an item is 10 weeks overdue.

²          The Library Board may consider legal action through the Town Justice and/or Small Claims Court to collect overdue items or charges.

Special Requests/Interlibrary Loan  

            Honeoye Public Library is a member of the Pioneer Library System and as such,    

           our patrons have access to borrowing books and other materials from other

           libraries. Items can be ordered via our public online catalogue at www.pls-net.org. 

 

Computers  

Public Access Computers are available for use by patrons.  Our

explains what you need to know in order to use the computers
and is available upon request.

Loan Periods  

²          3 weeks with 2 renewals for Books, Audiobooks & Magazines

²           New Videos – 2 days with no renewal (up to 2 months old)

²          Other Videos – 1 week with I renewal

Special Loans  

In an attempt to accommodate teachers doing specific units, upon request books can automatically be renewed by our staff on the due date.  This allows books to be kept for and additional three week period, for a maximum of six weeks total.  It is not necessary to bring the books in to be renewed.  

 

Limitations  

Limits on the number of items that may be checked out at one time per card holder:  

²          no limit on fiction

²          3 maximum per magazine title

²          4 maximum for audiobooks

²          4 maximum for one non-fiction subject

²          3 maximum of videos (per household)

²          20 maximum per card holder per visit

Holds  

A hold can be placed on a title owned by any library in the Pioneer Library System.  Placing a “hold” puts you on the list to receive that title when available.  A Patron Placed Holds Procedures sheet can be obtained at the circulation desk.

Fines  

Books, Magazines, Audio Books, Periodicals

²          10 ’ per item per day is charged.

²          For exceptionally overdue items, there is a maximum fine of $3.00 per item. 

²          This charge is not to exceed the original cover price of the item.

²          Patrons with fines of $5.00 or more are automatically “blocked” by the computer.  Nothing can be checked out with the “Blocked” status.  

Videos  

²          Video fines are $1.00 per day per video.

Library Cards  

Library cards are issued upon completion of an application form.  Applications for cards to be issued to patrons 6 years to 12 years require the signature of a parent or guardian and must be signed at the library.

Lost or Forgotten Cards  

Patrons are responsible for all materials borrowed on their card and agree to abide by the lending rules, policies and regulations of the Honeoye Public Library.
Lost cards can be replaced for a $1.00 charge.  

OWWL Access Logo library cards must be presented to check out library materials.
